"Casas Doentes"

Casas Doentes

This series is a collection questioning architecture in tension between villages and towns, accurately repeating an adjusted framework which forces our captive look to circulate within and to read all its details.

The recurring motif of the net -dark green- and the canvas, and the use of some signs and texts (among others ‘for sale’ expressed in all its possible forms) are telling us that we are dealing with today. And one feels an evident urgency in this approach which talks of a world, of an architecture, in short, of a way of life and a culture that are disappearing.

Many Galician rural villages have become ghosts whose façades are the only thing left, façades which could look like a movie setting, and behind them nature and vegetation recover their rights. It is through ruined windows where we can see trees and plants.
