Where Mimosa Bloom
Where Mimosa Bloom traces a walk across the memory. It tries to remember a mother who is no longer here through objects, persons, and moments, which take us directly to her person. That’s a homage of Rita to her mother Yolanda, and an attempt to assemble in a series her familiar universe.
Rita Puig Serra
Rita Puig-Serra Costa (1985, Barcelona) lives and works in Barcelona, where she combines personal projects with her work as a publisher and the coordination of the course of edition and production of photobooks in El Observatorio with Dani Pujalte. Her work explores the essence of relationships and more pertinent aspects of the human condition: life, death and chance in relation to the possibilities they bring to peoples’ lives. Seeking to better define our notions of growth, crisis, love, hope and loss, the photographer is particularly interested in exploring the concept of identity and how identity is challenged and redefined at different life stages. Her first book, Where Mimosa Bloom, has been published by Éditions du Lic in june 2014. Her work has been selected both for Pa-ta-ta Festival in Granada and Descubrimientos PhE’14. Where Mimosa Bloom was short¬listed by Rock Your Dummy at Le Photobook Fest 2013 in Paris. She has been recently selected in Circulation(s) 2015.
