Cinema CYCLE
What is there in common between us? Which places bring us together?
We can be brought together in the mind by places such as friendship and love, the way it happened with John and Juan during the Mexican revolution (Aguenta-te, Canalha!) or with Maria Helena Vieira da Silva and Árpád Szenes in Brazil (Ma Femme Chamada Bicho, Vieirarpad). Animation can explain who we are (Nós) and television can unite all places (Zéfiro). A man's struggle for the construction of a common space may jeopardize another common space (A Árvore, o Presidente e a Mediateca), the community may disagree on what is even a common space (Operações SAAL), a Soviet building may be a silent witness to several lives (A Casa na Praça Trúbnaia), the spaces may embrace all kinds of communities and all kinds of common desires (Crazy Horse) and the community itself may appropriate its own spaces (Água).
Cinema has always asked these questions and these problems, and sometimes even managed to solve them. This is the reason why we rejoined Encontros da Imagem, to present the history of cinema and its creators in our very well-known common place: the auditorium of the Library Lúcio Craveiro da Silva.

O prémio Emergentes 2022 — Prémio Internacional de Fotografia Encontros da Imagem, é organizado pelos Encontros da Imagem — Festival Internacional de Fotografia com o objetivo de premiar os melhores Portfólios em Fotografia Contemporânea. As leituras irão continuar a ser online esta edição, à semelhança dos últimos dois anos.
Os 60 fotógrafos selecionados terão a oportunidade de mostrar os seus trabalhos a curadores, galeristas, editores e diretores de museus e festivais através de leituras online. As leituras irão decorrer entre os dias 19 e 23 de Setembro 2022.
